Sebadoh Plans Short March Tour

Veteran indie rockers Sebadoh have scheduled a brief March tour that includes a showcase at SXSW, the annual music and media conference in Austin, Texas. Six of the tour's 10 stops will be in California.

Meanwhile, Sebadoh frontman Lou Barlow, who is also one half of the duo Folk Implosion, recently embarked on a solo club tour dubbed "One Part Folk Implosion." (John Davis, the other responsible party for Folk Implosion, is sitting out the tour.) The no-frills solo jaunt features Barlow--"armed with acoustic guitar, 4-track tapes, sampler, and a big stool," according to Interscope Records--playing Folk Implosion songs.

Barlow is scheduled to make several in-store appearances during his solo tour. The in-store schedule is posted on the official Folk Implosion website.

Sebadoh, which had been with the Seattle-based label Sub Pop since 1992, is shopping for a new record company, according to the band's publicist. The band recorded five albums for the label, most recently the 1999 release "The Sebadoh."

Following the tour, Sebadoh is expected to begin work on a new album.
