Tool announces US support dates for '10,000 Days'

Alt-metal rockers Tool have confirmed a slew of dates for May, springboarding their tour off the May 2 release of their new album, "10,000 Days."

Following the band's April 30 closing set at Indio, CA's Coachella Festival, Tool will jam 15 dates into its schedule in a little under three weeks, kicking off with a May 2 appearance and following a steady eastward migration to the tour's stopping point, May 21 in Boston.

After the North American itinerary is completed, the band will head out for an extensive tour of Europe. The full European itinerary can be found at Tool's website.

"10,000 Days" is the Tool's fourth studio album and its first since 2001's "Lateralus." The first single from the new album, "Vicarious," hit radio stations Monday (4/17).

The band released a pair of DVDs last December, one containing the music video for the song "Schism" and the other for "Parabola," both songs from "Lateralus." Each DVD contains a commentary section and a remix by ambient producer Brian Lustmord.
