Rockers Metallica have tapped Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, Johnny Cash) to produce their forthcoming album.

The group revealed the super-producer's involvement with the project via its official website, where it has posted some photos from the studio.

The Kaiser Chiefs led the way at Wednesday's (2/15) 2006 Brit Awards, taking home three trophies, while Coldplay, James Blunt and Green Day won two awards each.

The Brit Awards are the U.K. music industry's equivalent of the Grammys.

Shakira has issued a new song dubbed "Hips Don't Lie," which she recorded with Wyclef Jean. The track will appear by March 28 on new versions of her latest album, "Oral Fixation Vol. 2." Fans who already own the album will soon be able to find details about how to acquire the song at Shakira's website, according to a press release.

Hoobastank's third album, "Every Man for Himself," is due in stores on April 15. Producer Howard Benson, who was behind the scenes for the band's 2003 album, "The Reason," produced the new set.

The forthcoming album's first single, "If I Were You," is streaming at the band's official website.
