R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe has recorded a cover of Joseph Arthur's "In the Sun" for a digital EP to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans.
On Monday (2/6), six different versions of the track will be available via the iTunes Music Store, including a duet with Coldplay's Chris Martin.
Proceeds from the EP will benefit the non-profit Mercy Corps, which will direct the funds toward rebuilding devastated New Orleans neighborhoods.

Actress Heather Locklear has filed for divorce from Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, Us Weekly reports. The couple married in 1994, and has an 8-year-old daughter.

D-Roc of Ying Yang Twins has teamed with his two brothers--Mr. Ball and Courtney (Da Birthday Boy)--to form a side-project dubbed Da Muzicianz.
A new album titled "In Stores Now" is in the works for release this summer, led by the single "Camera Phone."

Iron Maiden will release the concert DVD "Death on the Road" on Feb. 21. It was filmed at Dortmund, Germany's Westenfalenhalle Arena, during the heavy metal group's Dec. 2003 "Dance of Death Tour."
The DVD will initially be issued as a limited-edition special digipack containing three separate discs: a traditional stereo soundtrack, a 5.1 Surround Sound mix by Kevin "Caveman" Shirley and a special features disc.
