Avenged Sevenfold, CKY tack on more shows

A full month of dates is now in place for Avenged Sevenfold's upcoming tour with fellow rockers CKY, which kicks off next week.

A new stretch of February shows throughout the Midwest and West--including four dates in Avenged Sevenfold's home state of California--extend the itinerary from its Jan. 19 launch in Tucson, AZ, until a Feb. 19 stop in Fresno, CA. Details are included below.

Avenged Sevenfold--vocalist M. Shadows, lead guitarist Synyster Gates, guitarist Zachy Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ and drummer The Rev--released its major-label debut, "City of Evil," last June. Producer Mudrock--who produced the band's 2003 indie set, "Waking the Fallen"--was at the helm again for the new disc.

The group has grabbed traction on radio with the "City of Evil" cut "Bat Country." The track sits at No. 7 on Billboard's latest Modern Rock chart, and has been riding that chart for 19 weeks.

Bat Country is one of four "City of Evil" cuts currently streaming at Avenged Sevenfold's MySpace.com website.

Pennsylvania's CKY is backing its sophomore set, "An Answer Can Be Found," which also surfaced last June. The group--which features drummer Jess Margera, brother of pro-skateboarder and MTV personality Bam Margera--issued its major-label debut, "Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild." in 2002.
