Reports: Ashlee Simpson hospitalized in Japan

Pop star/actress Ashlee Simpson reportedly is hospitalized in Tokyo, where she was admitted Thursday (12/15) after collapsing following a performance for MTV Japan.

According to Us Weekly, the singer told the crowd she felt ill after she performed her recent single "Boyfriend," and she collapsed in an elevator at the studio.

Joe Simpson, Ashlee's father and manager, reportedly told MTV on Friday (12/16) that Simpson remained in the hospital on an I.V. Further details haven't been revealed.

Simpson reportedly has canceled her planned Monday (12/19) appearance at the Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas.
