Vetiver to debut new album on new West Coast swing
Avant-folk ensemble Vetiver will give fans a preview of the group's upcoming second album, "To Find Me Gone," by playing it in its entirety during select appearances on the West Coast.
The band, which features an extended family of members, including San Francisco folkie Devendra Banhart (also known for working with a large circle of friends), will unveil the new material during a Jan. 17 show in Davis, CA, the first of eight stops on Vetiver's winter tour.
Banhart will not be appearing on the group's upcoming dates. Vetiver's touring line-up will consist of singer/guitarist Andy Cabic, cellist Alissa Anderson, drummer Otto Hauser, guitarist Sanders Tripp and bassist Brent Dunn.
"To Find Me Gone" was recorded this past spring in San Francisco and Los Angeles with producer Thom Monahan, who also worked with the band on its 2004 eponymous debut album. The core personnel on the album were Banhart, Cabic, Anderson, Hauser and bass player Kevin Barker--the same line-up that spent most of the summer touring Europe.
Vetiver released "Between," an EP collection of new and archival recordings, earlier this summer.
