Nickelback locks in North American shows with Trapt, Live
Canadian rockers Nickelback will back their chart-topping fifth album with a North American tour, the first leg of which kicks off next month.
The quartet opens on its home turf in mid-January with a nine-date trek through the Great White North, and then crosses the border for a stretch shows in the Midwest. A trio of mid-February dates caps the leg.
Live will hold down the opening slot during the Canadian shows, and Trapt will take over for the U.S. dates.
A round of March shows will be announced in the New Year, according to Roadrunner Records.
Nickelback's latest album, "All the Right Reasons," landed hit stores in October, and sold about 317,000 copies during its first week out, enough to grab a No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 chart.
"All the Right Reasons" features the hit single "Photograph," which is a "glimpse back at vocalist Chad Kroeger's early teenage years," according to a press release.
"I just wanted to take a trip down memory lane, and I wanted to see if I had enough ideas that would make other people take that trip, too," Kroeger said in a statement.
The second single from "All the Right Reasons," titled "Animals," recently hit the airwaves.
