Calexico, Iron & Wine book more shows
Iron & Wine and Calexico, who recently wrapped up a joint tour through the West, turn their attention to the East during a late-fall run.
The two acts return to the road at the end of November and tackle an itinerary that runs through mid-December. Included on the schedule is a three-night stand at New York City's Webster Hall. Details are shown below.
The roadwork follows the late-September release of "In the Reins," a seven-track EP featuring Iron & Wine singer (and sole member) Sam Beam backed by Calexico.
Recorded in December 2004 in Calexico's hometown of Tucson, the EP also features several guest performers, including singer/guitarist Salvador Duran, and Nick Luca and Craig Schumacher, co-owners of Wavelab Studios, where the set was recorded.
Iron & Wine's most recent release is last year's "Our Endless Numbered Days," which Beam recorded with a cast of friends and family members. Calexico's most recent studio set is 2003's "Feast of Wire." A follow-up album produced by J.D. Foster is due out on Quarterstick Records in the spring of next year, according to the band's website.
