Simple Plan books more North American shows

Canada's Simple Plan will follow its soon-to-launch run through the U.S. with an extensive tour of its homeland.

The group kicks off the four-week U.S. outing Oct. 22 in San Diego, and will then tackle a coast-to-coast tour of Canada that runs from Nov. 22 through mid-December. Details are included below.

Straylight Run, Plain White T's and Paramore will occupy the tour's opening slots.

Following the North American jaunt, Simple Plan will take about a month off before mounting a European tour. More information about the Euro trek is available at the group's website.

The upcoming roadwork follows the Oct. 4 release of the live set "MTV Hard Rock Live," which is available in two forms: a standard version with a 12-page color booklet, and a "fan pack" that includes a 32-page color tour book, as well as an exclusive Simple Plan patch and pin. Both versions feature live renditions of "Shut Up!" "Untitled" and "I'm Just a Kid," plus acoustic and plugged-in performances of "Crazy," the latest single from 2004's "Still Not Getting Any."

Produced by renowned rock producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi), "Still Not Getting Any"--Simple Plan's sophomore set--was certified platinum earlier this year, signifying U.S. shipment of 1 million copies. The album is the follow-up to 2002's "No Pads, No Helmets ... Just Balls," which is certified double platinum.
