Pearl Jam Announces Tour Dates, Venues To Be Announced

Pearl Jam has announced 40 dates for a two-leg tour of North America, beginning in August and running through early November. Venues and on-sale dates have not been announced.

According to an itinerary listed on the Pearl Jam Rumor Pit website (which resides on Sony Music's server), the band will open on Aug. 3 in Virginia Beach, then travel through the Southeast before returning to the Eastern seaboard. After a month-long break, the band will hit Canadian cities, the Midwest, Southwest and West Coast of the U.S., concluding with a tentative show in Seattle on Nov. 5.

The Rumor Pit reports that base ticket prices will run $26-30. An opening band has not been announced.

The tour announcement comes on the heels of news earlier this week that Sony's Epic Records will release the band's sixth album, "Binaural," on May 23.
