Trapt pumps up tour schedule behind new CD

Northern California's Trapt has rolled out more shows for its soon-to-launch tour in support of its recently released sophomore effort, "Someone in Control."

The four-piece group kicks off the lengthy headlining run in Chico, CA, on Thursday (9/22) and continues to snake its way across the nation into mid-December. The dates are included below.

Like-minded thrashers Blindside and Aphasia serve as the official support acts, and Trapt has also created a "Battle of The Bands"-type contest where new acts can compete to win a spot opening up for the group. More information about that opportunity is available at the tour's official website.

Trapt began its media blitz behind "Someone in Control" with a free outdoor show on Sept. 8 that drew more than 8,000 fans to Plaza de Caesar Chavez Park in San Jose, CA, which is near the group's hometown of Los Gatos.

"Someone in Control" follows the band's self-titled debut of 2002, a work that has sold nearly 2 million copies. The new album's first single, "Stand Up," is already a hit on rock radio.
