Our Lady Peace Takes Intimate Approach To U.S. Tour

Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace are accustomed to selling out arenas in their home country. But on their January tour of the United States, they will take a much more modest approach.

Dubbing the U.S. tour "Scaled," OLP has scheduled a series of acoustic performances at small venues. Set lists will be chosen by fans via the band's website, and the band will take questions from the audience during its performances, according to Columbia Records.

In addition, each of the band's four members is creating a short film that will run during the concerts.

"We wanted to interact with our real fans and allow them to see us in a new light,'' frontman Raine Maida said in a statement.

Our Lady Peace's third album, "Happiness.. Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch," debuted at the top of the Canadian album charts in September, beating out same-week releases by Nine Inch Nails, Chris Cornell and Tori Amos. In America, however, the album hit No. 69 on the Billboard 200 album chart during its debut week, and dropped off of the chart after just four weeks.

OLP recently completed a December arena tour with the Stereophonics in the U.K, and has planned a Canadian arena tour planned for February. The band plans to embark on a major U.S. tour in March, but the specifics haven't been confirmed.
