Ben Folds books fall shows, readies live DVD

Now nearing the end of his co-headlining tour with Rufus Wainwright, singer/pianist Ben Folds is looking ahead to some fall concerts on his own.

So far, Folds has booked a handful of October concerts, and is also scheduled to give a free Sept. 6 performance at the Apple Computer store in New York City's SoHo district. Details are included below.

The Apple Store appearance will mark the release of Folds' "iTunes Originals," a collection of new songs and an in-depth interview with the singer/pianist that will be available exclusively online via Apple's iTunes Music Store.

In addition to touring, Folds' fall plans include the release of a live DVD that captures his March 2005 performance with the Western Australia Symphony Orchestra. A specific release date hasn't been announced.

Fans who can't make it to one of Folds' live appearances this fall can catch him on TV during PBS's Oct. 29 edition of its "Austin City Limits" concert series.

Folds is backing his May release, "Songs for Silverman," which is his first full-length studio set since 2001's "Rockin' the Suburbs." The album features the cut "Landed," the music video for which is streaming at his website.
