'N Sync Pay-Per-View To Bridge Break In Tour Activity
'N Sync, nearing a two-month break in their world tour, will try to fill at least part of the void by beaming a pay-per-view special into the homes of fans on Sept. 11. The program, with a suggested price of $19.95, is being billed as the first nationally televised broadcast of the band's current live concert.
Dubbed '''N Sync 'N Concert,'' the program will feature a free half-hour pre-show that promises an ''up close and personal look at your favorite band members behind the scenes,'' according to Disney's Buena Vista unit, the Oz behind the program. The preview will be followed by a 75-minute pay-per-view program consisting of concert footage and the American broadcast premiere of the new video ''You Drive Me Crazy.''
'''N Sync 'N Concert'' will be available via satellite through DirectTV and via cable on the Viewer's Choice, TVN, and DIVA programming services. The program will repeat throughout September.
'N Sync's debut album currently sits at #20 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and to date has sold more than 7 million copies in the US.
The release date for the group's second album has been announced as Nov. 29, in time for the annual holiday buying season.
Late work on the album forced the postponement of a number of tour stops originally scheduled for early September. The rescheduling of those dates surrounding the new album's release date is expected to build toward an as-yet-tentative New Year's Eve booking in Hawaii.
