Kenny Rogers to tour through year's end
Kenny Rogers' fans will have ample opportunity to catch the veteran country singer in concert this year thanks to a tour schedule that now stretches well into December.
Rogers, who only played a few shows in June, will ramp things back up during a busy July, and has mapped an itinerary that currently ends just before Christmas. Details are included below.
The November and December dates will likely comprise a holiday-themed stretch of shows, as has been the singer's tradition for the past several years.
In March, Capitol Records Nashville announced that it had cut a new recording deal with Rogers, who was with the label from 1976-1983. During that stint, Rogers's albums sold at a rate of 1 million copies per month for two straight years, according to the label.
The announcement followed last year's Capitol release of "Kenny Rogers: 42 Ultimate Hits," which features songs culled from the singer's extensive catalog, as well as two new cuts: "We Are the Same" and "My World is Over," a duet with Whitney Duncan.
No world yet on when a new Capitol release will surface. Rogers's most recent collection of all-new material is 2003's "Back to the Well."
