Pixies, Widespread Panic, Weezer on board for Lollapalooza
Pixies, Widespread Panic, Weezer, The Killers, Dinosaur Jr. and Cake will be among approximately 60 acts on the bill of the revamped Lollapalooza festival, set to take place July 23-24 at Chicago's Grant Park.
Also scheduled to perform are Dashboard Confessional, The Arcade Fire, Billy Idol, Death Cab for Cutie, Digable Planets, Liz Phair, G. Love & Special Sauce, Blonde Redhead, The Black Keys, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs and The Bravery. Additional confirmed acts are posted at Lollapalooza's website, where tickets are also available.
In addition to five stages of music, the event will "incorporate art, fashion, food, activities for kids, cultural elements and sensory surprises that the Lollapalooza experience is known for," according to a press release.
This year marks the first time that Lollapalooza, which first took place in 1991, will be staged in a single city rather than as a traveling tour. The 2004 edition of Lollapalooza was scrapped due to weak ticket sales.
Earlier this month--before the lineup was unveiled--organizers announced that all 2,000 discounted pre-sale tickets to the event had sold out in 80 minutes.
