Briefly: The dB's, Nelly, Tim McGraw, Big & Rich, Shyne
More than 20 years after the band's members went their separate ways, The dB's original lineup has reunited.
The group--Peter Holsapple, Chris Stamey, Will Rigby and Gene Holder--recorded some new tracks at Water Music Recorders in Hoboken, NJ, in January, and Holsapple and Stamey are completing seven new originals.
According to their publicist, the band hopes to have a new album out in 2006, and "live appearances may happen sooner."

A judge reportedly has ruled that rapper Shyne--who has been jailed since 2001 for a 1999 shooting in New York City, but signed a record deal while in prison--won't see money from the $3 million deal until a pending civil lawsuit is settled. The suit was brought by two people wounded in the shooting.
The judge froze the rapper's funds, including Shyne's $500,000 advance, citing New York's "Son of Sam" law, which bars convicts from profiting from their crimes.
