Ozzfest uncorks 10th anniversary plans

Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall and Black Label Society are on board for this year's edition of Ozzfest, which will hit more than 25 cities on the summer amphitheater circuit.

Rob Zombie will headline the tour's Hot Topic Second Stage, which will also feature fellow rockers As I Lay Dying, Mastodon, The Haunted, In Flames, Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Bury Your Dead, Soilwork, Trivium, It Dies Today, A Dozen Furies and others.

"I'm most proud of the success of Ozzfest, tour founder Sharon Osbourne, wife of tour namesake Ozzy Osbourne, said in a statement. "Everyone said it would never happen and 10 years later we are still in business."

This year will mark Iron Maiden's first Ozzfest appearance, and the first time that grizzled metal veterans Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden have toured together.

"This summer's Maiden touring is based on the recent 'Early Days' DVD, and all the songs we do at Ozzfest will be from our first four album--'Iron Maiden,' 'Killers,' 'Number of the Beast' and 'Piece of Mind,'" frontman Bruce Dickinson said in a statement. "…The stage sets, production and backdrops will recreate aspects of the shows on the tours around those albums--only bigger… much bigger!"

A Dozen Furies landed its second-stage slot by winning Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's MTV "Battle for Ozzfest" reality show.

Besides music, Ozzfest has grown over the years to include many other attractions at its so-called "Village of the Damned, including tattoo artists, piercing booths, video games, vendors and more.
