Jill Scott adds more shows to winter outing

Jill Scott continues to fill some blanks in her itinerary as the launch date of her winter tour approaches.

Still scheduled to kick off Feb. 9 in Sacramento, CA, Scott's tour now includes newly announced stops in Anaheim, CA; Phoenix; Newark, NJ; Montreal; Detroit; and Chicago. Also added to the schedule is a second night in Washington, DC. The itinerary appears below.

The roadwork is part of Scott's continued support for last year's "Beautifully Human: Works & Sounds Vol. 2." The set--which is the follow-up to her Grammy-nominated 2000 debut, "Who is Jill Scott? Words & Sounds Vol. 1"--debuted atop Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart, and entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 3 the same week.

During the three years between the release of her two albums, Scott took a break that she felt was essential to creating "Beautifully Human."

"I write about what I'm living, and I knew that I couldn't create without having some time at home," she said in a statement. "Otherwise, this album would have been about being on the road. It was important for me to calm my spirit because it was so active and excited. I needed to go grocery shopping, paint a room in my house and even get a manicure and pedicure without having to rush to an appointment."

Scott is scheduled to perform on the Jan. 21 episode of NBC's "The Tonight Show," according to her website.

"Golden," the first single from "Beautifully Human," is one of several tracks that are streaming at Scott's website.
