Chevelle, Helmet, others head up annual Snocore Tour

Rockers Chevelle will headline the 2005 Snocore Tour, which will also feature Helmet, Crossfade, Future Leaders of the World and Strata.

The 38-date trek kicks off in late January, and runs into mid-March. Details are shown below.

In addition to musical performances, the annual Snocore Tour--which is heading into its 10th year--will also feature "dual-screen projection set-up featuring extreme winter sports videos, tagged as the 'sickest videos you've ever seen,' according to a press release.

More information about the Snocore Tour is available at the outing's official website.

Tour sponsor MTV2 will air portions of the tour, with coverage including a full week of the program "MTV2 Rock Countdown" filmed from the road.

Chevelle is on the road in support of its latest album, "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us in)," which surfaced in late September. The set features the hit "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)," which has helped spur the album to sales of more than 500,000 copies, according to Epic Records.

Helmet is backing "Size Matters," the alt-metal group's first new studio set in seven years.

Crossfade issued its self-titled debut earlier this year. The set spawned the hit single "Cold," which Billboard Monitor named 2004's most-played song, according to a press release.

Future Leaders of the World offered up their debut set, "LVL IV," in October.

Strata's self-titled debut landed in stores in July.
