Ashlee Simpson firms 2005 tour plans
As tickets for many stops on her inaugural headlining tour begin to hit the market, pop singer Ashlee Simpson's schedule has undergone some tweaks.
The tour's start, which was originally planned for early February in her home state of Texas, is now set for Feb. 18 in the Los Angeles area. Several new cities have been added since Simpson's preliminary itinerary first surfaced earlier this month, and others have been dropped. The current schedule is below.
Simpson is supporting her debut album, "Autobiography," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart earlier this year.
Like her older sister, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee is the star her own MTV reality show. The second season of "The Ashlee Simpson Show," which begins airing Jan. 5, will focus on her preparations for the road, according to Geffen Records.
Simpson's upcoming television appearances include Dec. 17 on NBC's "Tonight Show" and Dec. 22 on the CBS special "A Home for the Holidays." On Jan. 4, she'll perform her new hit "La La" during halftime of college football's FedEx Orange Bowl, which takes place at Miami's Pro Player Stadium.
Despite her No. 1 album, driven this summer by the hit "Pieces of Me," Simpson became better known for a live flub on an October "Saturday Night Live" episode, when pre-recorded vocals for the wrong song could be heard playing as her band began to perform. She later said she was forced to augment her voice during that performance with recorded backing tracks because acid reflux caused her vocal cords to swell.
