Ani DiFranco keeps up roadwork as concert DVD hits stores

Ani DiFranco's new concert DVD "Trust" is now in stores, and the singer/songwriter will soon begin another stretch of North American tour dates.

DiFranco is currently touring Europe, but she'll launch a trek on the U.S. and Canadian theater circuits with a two-night stand in New York City Nov. 19-20. Three weeks of dates are set.

"Trust," shot by photographer/filmmaker Danny Clinch, includes 90 minutes of concert footage culled from two May 2004 shows in Washington, DC. Most songs feature DiFranco playing with upright bassist Todd Sickafoose, and New York guitarist Tony Scherr appears on some songs.

The DVD includes more than 20 songs from throughout DiFranco's career. Among them are four new ones that will appear on DiFranco's next studio album, which is due in January.

DiFranco's latest studio set is "Educated Guess," which surfaced early this year. Her Righteous Babe label's website recently began selling a series of authorized concert CDs. Three of the "bootlegs"--recorded this year in Portland, OR; Sacramento, CA; and Atlanta--are currently for sale.
