Simple Plan readies new album, lines up tour
Simple Plan issues its sophomore album next month, and follows the release with a U.S. tour.
Titled "Still Not Getting Any ...," the group's follow-up to 2002's "No Pads, No Helmets ... Just Balls," hits stores on Oct. 26. Four days later, the band launches a road trip that, so far, stretches into mid-November. Details are shown below.
The group has tapped Mae and Plain White T's to hold down the opening slots.
The tour is part of Verizon Wireless' Music Unleashed Concert Series. Verizon Wireless will hold various contests for tickets and other prizes, and will offer live-audio ringtones produced from audio recorded at select Simple Plan concerts, according to a press release. Details will be posted at the tour's website.
Simple Plan recorded "Still Not Getting Any ..." with producer Bob Rock, best known for his work with Metallica.
"For the last 6 months, we've been working day and night on making the best new record possible," drummer Chuck Comeau said in a statement. "It's an amazing feeling to finally be done and get back on the road doing the one thing we love the most--playing shows."
