KORN To Bring Its "Issues" To The Apollo
KORN will perform its new album, "Issues," in its entirety and in sequence at Harlem's Apollo Theatre next Monday (11/15), the day before the album is scheduled to hit stores.
The audience for the show at the historic New York venue will consist mostly of radio station contest winners, according to a press release issued by the band's camp. The small number of tickets that were made available to the public have been snapped up.
KORN's instrumentation will be boosted by a choir and the New York City Police Department Emerald Society Pipes & Drums. The choir and the bagpipe/drum corps will be conducted by Richard Gibbs, whose credits include compositions for the films ''Dr. Dolittle'' and ''Say Anything,'' as well as work with Robert Palmer, Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin.
A webcast of the show will be streamed via KORN's official website, beginning at 10 p.m. ET, and will be rebroadcast two hours later.
The debut single from ''Issues,'' ''Falling Away From Me,'' was recently featured on the fall-season debut of the Comedy Central cartoon ''South Park.'' The video to the song, which was directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, debuted during an appearance by the band on MTV.
Though KORN is expected to tour behind ''Issues'' early next year, a confirmed itinerary has yet to be issued by the band's representatives. The band did perform at a few stops on the just-concluded Family Values Tour, in which the band holds an ownership stake.
