Joe Satriani sets more 'Evening With' dates
Now nearing the end of his road trip with Deep Purple, guitarist Joe Satriani sets his sights on a late-2004 headlining run.
Billed as "An Evening with Joe Satriani"--meaning no opening act will appear--the tour's first leg is now scheduled to kick off in Atlanta on Oct. 6, and runs through the end of that month. A handful of late-December dates are also set, and the six-stringer's itinerary currently ends with a New Year's Day performance in Anaheim, CA.
In addition to tickets sold through traditional outlets, Satriani's website is offering two premium ticket packages. Prices are set at $75 to $200, and the more expensive of the two entitles the buyer to a meet-and-greet with Satriani, as well as seats in the first three rows. More information is posted at the site.
In April, Satriani released his ninth studio album, "Is There Love in Space?" The entire album is at a listening party page at Satriani's website. The site also features footage of Satriani and his backing band--Matt Bissonette (bass) and Jeff Campitelli (drums)--rehearsing for the tour.
During the break between his two rounds of upcoming "Evening With" shows, Satriani heads to South America for a series of co-headlining concerts with fellow guitarists Steve Vai and Robert Fripp (King Crimson). Details are available at Satriani's website.
