Kid Rock, Powerman 5000 Join For Fall Tour
Though Kid Rock's tour with Limp Bizkit has reached an end, the rock-n-rapper won't be taking a break from the road anytime soon. Plans for a series of club dates with Powerman 5000 have emerged, and he'll also showing up at several North American festivals through the end of the year.
September's live performances include a spot on the Gravity Games bill in Providence, R.I., on the 10th, followed by slots on two radio station festivals. A tour of Europe will follow, but he'll be back in the U.S. for another festival in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Oct. 20.
Kid is up for two MTV Video Music Awards: ''Best New Artist In A Video'' and ''Best Rock Video'' for the David Meyers-directed smash ''Bawitdaba.'' He's also scheduled to perform on the show, which takes place Sept. 9 at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. On Sept. 8, he'll make his debut appearance on Late Show With David Letterman, where he's expected to play his latest single, ''Cowboy.''
The Detroit native broke out this year with Devil Without a Cause, his debut on the Lava/Atlantic label. According to the label, the album is rapidly approaching triple platinum status, and is on its 34th week on the Billboard 200 album chart.
