Badly Drawn Boy sketches U.S. club trek

Damon Gough, the British singer/songwriter better known as Badly Drawn Boy, has unveiled plans for the first round of North American dates behind his new album, "One Plus One is One."

After recording 2002's "Have You Fed the Fish" in Los Angeles, Gough stayed close to home for the new set. He began work on "One Plus One is One" in June of 2003 in Stockport, England's Moolah Rouge Studios, located a 15-minute cab ride from his home.

"Year of the Rat," the new album's first single, is in rotation on MTV and MTV2, according to Astralwerks Records.

In addition to "Have You Fed the Fish," the prolific Badly Drawn Boy also issued the soundtrack to the Hugh Grant film "About a Boy" in 2002. His debut was 2000's Mercury Music Prize-winning "The Hour of Bewilderbeast."

Though each Badly Drawn Boy album has met with generally positive reviews in the U.S., his sales numbers have proven much stronger in the U.K., where his singles and albums routinely reach the upper echelons of the charts.
