The Melvins set sights on tour as multiple releases near
Alt-metal veterans The Melvins hit the road in late August to support their forthcoming album, "Pigs of the Roman Empire."
The group has lined up an ambitious outing that kicks off on the West Coast and is so far scheduled to run through mid-October. Details are shown below.
Fellow Ipecac Recordings artists Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant--headed up by guitarist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle)--holds down the tour's opening slot.
The Seattle-based Melvins are also due to give a July 25 performance in their hometown as part of the Capitol Hill Block Party. More information is available at the two-day event's website.
The tour follows the Aug. 24 release of "Pigs of the Roman Empire," a collaboration between The Melvins and experimental ambient artist Lustmordt.
In October, Alternative Tentacles plans to release "Never Breathe What You Can't See," which teams The Melvins with Jello Biafra.
