Britney Spears calls off tour due to injury

Britney Spears, who was scheduled to launch the next leg of her Onyx Hotel Tour in Hartford, CT, later this month, has canceled the outing due to an injury she suffered during a recent video shoot, according to Jive Records.

Spears suffered what a press release described as "severe damage" to her leg when she fell last week while filming a video in the New York City borough of Queens. At the time, she was working on a clip for "Outrageous," the fourth single from her 2003 album, "In the Zone."

Spears since has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery at a New York hospital to repair the injury, but she will have her knee in a hard brace for six weeks, followed by at least eight to 12 weeks of rehabilitation, according to her label publicist.
