First Dates Confirmed For Tina Turner's Final Tour
Initial routing information for eight stops on Tina Turner's upcoming "Twenty Four Seven" tour has surfaced. The 60-year-old pop legend has said that her planned upcoming world tour--which will include a grueling 50-date North American itinerary--will be her last.
Tickets for Turner's performances in Rosemont, Ill., Auburn Hills, Mich., New York, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Las Vegas, San Jose, and Boston, Mass., are set to go on sale on Saturday (2/5). The tour is also scheduled to make a stop at Target Center in Minneapolis on March 23, and tickets for that show are tentatively set to go on sale on Feb. 12.
According to a tour publicist, the remainder of Turner's North American itinerary will be confirmed on Feb. 10, along with additional onsale dates. However, a rough outline of the tour was recently released by E*Trade, one of the tour's sponsors.
According to the E*Trade announcement, the Turner tour is tentatively scheduled to hit Cleveland, Louisville, Ky., and Madison, Wis., in March. April's tour stops are expected to include Atlanta, Dallas, Greensboro, N.C., Hartford, Conn., Houston, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, Washington, D.C., and Tampa.
The tentative May itinerary has Turner in Cincinnati, Denver, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Moline, Ill., Portland, Sacramento, Calif., St. Louis and Tacoma, Wash. The June itinerary routes her through Albany, N.Y., Columbus, Ohio, East Rutherford, N.J., Grand Rapids, Mich., Pittsburgh, and Wantaugh, N.Y.
Turner's U.S. concerts will be in arenas, but the European tour that follows will play in stadiums. The European leg kicks off on June 30 in Turner's hometown of Zurich, Switzerland.
Turner's new album, "Twenty Four Seven," was released on Tuesday (2/1) in the U.S. and in Canada. The album hit the shelves in Europe in November, and has already sold more than 2 million copies on the continent, according to Turner's official website.
