Dave Koz tunes up for tour behind first new album in four years
Saxophonist Dave Koz works the theater circuit this fall and winter to support his forthcoming album, "Saxophonic."
Koz's fall outing gets underway in late September, and is scheduled to run non-stop until early November. A subsequent month-long holiday outing commences in late November.
Set for release on Oct. 7, "Saxophonic" is Koz's first new solo set since 1999's gold-certified "The Dance." The album features the new single "Honey-Dipped," which is streaming at Koz's website.
Koz divided the material on "Saxophonic" into three "Acts," according to a press release.
"The Acts really represent moods," Koz said in a statement. "Act 1 is about discovery and the early stages of a relationship. Act 2 is like the adventure. Act 3 is a bit more of what a relationship is really about, once you've had your fun and you've moved beyond the honeymoon."
Backing Koz on the road are guitarist Marc Antoine, trumpeter Chris Botti and keyboardist Jeff Lorber, all three of whom appear on "Saxophonic."
