Poison the Well, Dillinger Escape Plan, others mount Take Action Tour

Poison the Well, Dilligner Escape Plan, Further Seems Forever and others are among the acts who grace the bill of the fourth-annual Take Action Tour, which kicks off in September.

Other artists confirmed for the outing include Avenged Sevenfold, Shadows Fall, Death by Stereo, Eighteen Visions, Shai Hulud, This Day Forward, Since by Man and Black Cross. More acts will be added, according to organizers.

The month-long run kicks off in Minneapolis on Sept. 11. An Internet-only ticket pre-sale will take place July 22-25 exclusively at the tour's official website, and a public on-sale date is set for July 26. More information is available at the tour's website.

To coincide with the tour, Sub City--a division of Hopeless Records that raises funds for various non-profit organizations--will release on Sept. 9 a compilation titled "Take Action! Volume 3." The two-disc set features music from Poison the Well, Thrice, Thursday, Good Riddance, The Ataris, Rufio, Further Seems Forever, Avenged Sevenfold, Yellowcard, Boy Sets Fire, Cursive, The Division of Laura Lee and others.

The Take Action Tour is an annual outing that raises funds and awareness for the National Hopeline Network and its 1-800-SUICIDE (784-2433) hotline, which is managed by the Kristin Brooks Hope Center. Sub City will also donate to the organization a portion of the proceeds from sales of "Take Action! Volume 3."

Bands that have participated in previous Take Action tours include Thrice, Jimmy Eat World, Anti Flag, Thursday and others. Last year's outing raised donations totaling $48,452.04, according to organizers.

H. Reese Butler II, founder of the Kristin Brooks Hope Center, named the organization for his wife, who died by suicide after suffering a severe case of post-partum depression.
