Black Eyed Peas get cooking with two summer tours
Opening shows for Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera isn't enough to keep Black Eyed Peas busy this summer, so the group is mounting a simultaneous club outing.
In addition to scheduling shows for many off-days from the Timberlake/Aguilera run--which kicks off in Phoenix on June 4--the hip-hop outfit on several dates will finish its opening set for Timberlake and Aguilera, then head to a local club for its own headlining show.
Black Eyed Peas are revving up for the June 24 release of their new album, "Elephunk," their first set since 2000's "Bridging the Gap." Four new tracks--"Let's Get Retarded," "Hands Up," "Hey Mama" and first single "Where Is the Love?"--are streaming at Interscope's "Elephunk"-preview website.
"Where Is Love" features a guest appearance from Timberlake, while rockers Papa Roach and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker turn up elsewhere on the set.
Black Eyed Peas released their debut album, "Behind the Front," in 1998. Formerly a trio, the group is now a quartet thanks to the recent addition of sole female member Fergie.
