Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks take 'Pig Lib' on the road

With their new CD "Pig Lib" now safely in stores, Portland, Ore.-based Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks are packing for a month of North American club dates.

The outing is currently set to run through late May. Washington, D.C. indie-rockers Dead Meadow support from May 2 through May 14, and Chicago underground musician Azita takes over the opening slot from May 15 through May 24.

"Pig Lib" is Malkmus' second album since the 1999 break-up of Pavement, the much-lauded indie-rock band that he fronted through most of the '90s.

The main "Pig Lib" disc features 11 new tracks, and a second bonus disc includes three additional studio recordings and two live tracks.

Malkmus and the Jicks are curating the September 2003 edition of the All Tomorrow's Parties music festival, which will take place at an as-yet-undetermined venue in the New York City area.
