Guster returns with new album, tour

The boys of Guster, whose most-recent album surfaced nearly four years ago, precede the release of their latest effort with a spring tour.

The Boston-based alt/acoustic-rock group is hitting clubs, theaters and colleges throughout the U.S. on a run that kicks off in late March, but stops in much of the Northeast are on hold until the band's new album hits stores on June 2.

"Everyone outside the Northeast gets a big Guster tour this spring," the group wrote in a message posted to its official website on Sunday (2/3). "We're holding out on the northeast until June, when we plan to do special things."

Titled "Keep It Together," Guster's forthcoming album is the follow up to 1999's "Lost and Gone Forever." The trio recently finished mixing the new set with Mike Shipley, who is known for his work with Shania Twain, Def Leppard, Aersomith, Green Day and others.

Fans can get an early listen to two of the group's new tracks, titled "Ramona" and "Safari," by downloading them from the band's website.
