Shakira rolls out more Tour of the Mongoose dates
Latin pop-sensation Shakira embarks on the second leg of her North American tour later this month.
Dubbed Tour of the Mongoose, the outing supports the Colombian-born singer's multi-platinum 2001 release, "Laundry Service." The album has sold more than 10.5 million copies worldwide, and was 2002's top-selling album in Europe, according to her publicist.
Last November, one year after its original release, Sony reissued "Laundry Service" as a limited-edition set titled "Laundry Service: Washed & Dried." The new version features bonus tracks not found on the original release, as well as a bonus DVD.
Though Shakira became a mainstream success in North America thanks to "Laundry Service" and its pair of hit singles ("Whenever Wherever" and "Underneath your Clothes"), she has been a well-establish pop-star throughout Latin America, Brazil and Spain since the mid '90s.
In 2000, Shakira won a GRAMMY®
Award in the Best Latin Pop Album category for her "MTV Unplugged" set.
