The Verve Pipe goes out in support of new release
The Verve Pipe has unveiled several dates in support of its forthcoming album "Underneath." The tour kicks off on Oct. 13 in Kalamazoo, Mich., when the band will perform with comedian David Spade and rockers 3 Doors Down.
Prior to the tour, on Tuesday (9/25) at Chicago's Schuba's, the Verve Pipe will play a benefit for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
"Underneath" (RCA), the band's new album, due in stores on Tuesday (9/25), features songs written by lead singer Brian Vander Ark and drummer Donny Brown, as well as collaborations by each with producer Adam Schlesinger. Besides his work with Ivy and Fountains of Wayne, Schlesinger wrote the song "That Thing You Do" for the Tom Hanks movie of the same name.
Vander Ark plays one of Mark Wahlberg's band mates in the movie "Rock Star." Wahlberg sings one of Vander Ark's songs, "Colorful," near the end of the movie. The song appears on both "Underneath" and the "Rock Star" soundtrack (Priority).
