A handful of concert dates for Etta James
Legendary blues singer Etta James and the Roots Band have begun to line up dates following the release of James' latest album, "Blue Gardenia."
According to her publicist, the tour kicks off on Sept. 5 in Alexandria, Va., and will run through December. Seven shows have been confirmed so far.
James released "Blue Gardenia" (BMG/Private) in August. The collection of jazz standards includes her takes on "Cry Me a River," "Love Letters," "Come Rain or Come Shine" and "In My Solitude," among others. James' mother, Dorothy Leatherwood, performs with her daughter on the title track.
James was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
