Lit to tour in support of October release

The rock band Lit has scheduled a tour around the release of its forthcoming record, "Atomic," which hits stores on Oct. 16.

Lit will preview new songs from "Atomic" (Dirty Martini/RCA) on its tour, which kicks off on Sept. 9 in Providence, R.I., and wraps up with a "surprise show" on Oct. 13.

One of the tunes from "Atomic," "The Last Time Again," appears in the movie "American Pie 2," though it is not on the movie's soundtrack CD.

In other Lit news, the group covered the Twisted Sister hit "I Wanna Rock" for the tribute album "Twisted Forever" (Koch).

Lit's labelmates Handsome Devil will serve as the opening act on all dates save for shows in Providence, R.I., and Old Bridge, N.J. Handsome Devil releases its album "Love and Kisses from the Underground" on Sept. 25.
