Taproot, Nonpoint and others team up for Ozzfest off-dates
Taproot and Nonpoint have arranged to spend off-dates from the Ozzfest tour playing a series of club and theater shows. The outing will begin on Sunday (6/10), two days after Ozzfest's Friday night (6/8) kick-off.
Fellow Ozzfest acts Otep, Systematic and Drowning Pool will also participate in the off-date tour. Details appear in the itinerary below.
Four of the five groups are currently touring in support of major-label debuts: Taproot's "Gift" (Atlantic) was released last June, Nonpoint's "Statement" (MCA) hit stores last October, Systematic's "Somewhere In Between" (Elektra) surfaced in May, and Drowning Pool's "Sinner" (Wind Up) dropped on Tuesday (6/5).
Otep recently completed an EP that will be available online, as well as at its Ozzfest and off-date tour stops, according to the band's official website.
Systematic, Nonpoint and Drowning Pool, meanwhile, all have singles charting on trade publication Radio & Records' latest active rock airplay chart. Systematic's "Beginning of the End" clocks in at No. 18, Nonpoint's "What a Day" at No. 25 and Drowning Pool's "Bodies" at No. 27.
The Taproot-Nonpoint outing marks the second Ozzfest spin-off tour that will run concurrently with its parent outing. Last month, Ozzfest acts Papa Roach, Slipknot, Disturbed, Linkin Park and Mudvayne announced plans for their Big Day Off tour, which is also set for Ozzfest off-dates.
