Fugazi plots summer run through Midwest and Canada
Fugazi, which completed a series of U.S. dates earlier this spring, will take to the road again in late June. The group has lined up a two-week outing that will begin with several Midwestern stops before heading into Canada.
The jaunt kicks off with a two-night stand at Chicago's Congress theater, the first night of which is already sold out, according to the group's official website.
Known for keeping its ticket prices among the lowest of all U.S. touring acts, Fugazi has set a price of $6 U.S. and $10 Canadian for most of its upcoming shows. More detailed information can be found at this link.
On July 23, Fugazi will release a DVD version of "Instrument." Originally released on VHS in 1999, "Instrument" is a 115-minute band documentary shot by Jem Cohen. The DVD version will contain two extra short movies by Cohen that feature the Fugazi tracks "Little Flags" and "Glueman," and will also contain live versions of three songs--"Waiting Room," "Turnover" and "Long Division"--that were shot at three different concerts.
Fugazi's most recent release is 1998's "End Hits" (Dischord). The group is currently working on a new album, for which no release date has been set.
