Everclear pumps up summer tour schedule

Everclear has filled the gaps in its upcoming tour itinerary with a number of additional headlining concert dates that will keep the group on the road until early August. The outing kicks off in late June.

American Hi-Fi, Mayfield 4 and Flipp will open for Everclear on all of the upcoming dates, according to a press release. The first leg of the tour, which wrapped up earlier this month, featured Blink-182.

Everclear continues to tour in support of its pair of 2000 releases, "Songs from an American Movie Vol 1: Learning How to Smile" and "Songs from an American Movie Vol. 2: Good Time for a Bad Attitude" (Capitol).

The group's cover of Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl," featured on "Learning How to Smile," entered Billboard's Adult Top 40 singles chart at No. 37 one week ago, and is up to No. 32 on this week's edition.

Everclear frontman Art Alexakis directed the video for "Brown Eyed Girl," which features actress Marla Sokoloff ("The Practice") and actor-comedian Andy Dick ("The Andy Dick Show"), according to the group's publicist.
