According to SonicNet, "Dr. Dre has settled his suit against accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, in which the superstar producer/rapper claimed the company had cost him tens of millions during his time at Death Row Records." The two parties signed a confidentiality agreement, but a source told Sonicnet that the settlement sum was around $15 million.

Johnny Cash and photographer Jim Marshall are suing Urban Outfitters for using Cash's likeness on T-shirts without authorization, Launch.com reported.

The Birthday Tribute will feature musical performances by a bevy of internationally celebrated groups and performers, but details are being withheld until a later date. The Warped tour announced that Blink-182 will join the tour for its Somerset, Wisc., show on July 14.

Atlantic Records has shuttered its Nashville offices, Warner Bros. announced. Though the label's name will remain--as will its roster of artists--its promotion and marketing will be handled by Warner Bros. Nashville. Twelve of the company's 13 employees--including President/CEO Barry Coburn--have left the company.

Los Lobos will perform a benefit concert for the East Los Angeles' East/Northeast Collaborative for Excellence in Education Scholarship Foundation on May 7, according to the foundation. Tickets to the concert--at Ingals Auditorium at East Los Angeles Community College--are available at several Los Angeles-area locations, including Premier Aztlan Bookstore, Montebello Towne Center; Espresso Mi Cultura & Café, Hollywood; Moby Disc Records, Pasadena; and East LA College Student Activities Office.

According to the Press Office, the Bill Monroe Foundation--about which all we know is that it hopes to construct a Bill Monroe museum in Rosine, Ky.--paid $1.125 million for the legendary bluegrass musician's Gibson mandolin.

On WallofSound.com, Crazy Town's Shifty Shellshock discusses the band's song "Butterfly" being "targeted by the Federal Trade Commission as proof that the recording industry isn't living up to a promise made last year to stop marketing music with explicit and inappropriate lyrics to underage listeners":

"Yeah, [the song has] crossed some boundaries I didn't expect, but I love that. ... Last night, there was these little 11-, 10-year-old girls that wouldn't stop hugging me and were like weights on my legs. I've had all these girls who are like, 'Oh, I want to marry you.'
