Tesla charges up for reunion tour

Tesla plans to head out on a reunion tour in mid-February, according to the group's publicist. The band, whose popularity peaked in the late '80s/early '90s, parted ways in 1995.

Thirteen tour dates have been revealed, and more will be announced soon, according to a press release from the group.

Last October, the members of Tesla reunited for a sold-out show at the Arco Arena, located in the group's hometown of Sacramento, Calif. The following month, the group's 1995 compilation album, "Time's Makin' Changes: The Best of Tesla" (Geffen), was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipping 500,000 copies.

Two more reunion shows in California and one in Nevada all followed in December, according to the band's official website.

Tesla's platinum debut, "Mechanical Resonance," was released in November of 1986, and featured the hits "Modern Day Cowboy" and "Little Suzi." The group's three subsequent releases were also certified platinum, and spawned the Top 10 hits "Love Song" and "Signs."

The group's most recent studio release is 1994's "Bust a Nut," which was certified gold in March of 1995. The band broke up one month later.

The upcoming reunion tour may result in a live album, according to Tesla's publicist.
