Pantera forges more new tour dates

update: Pantera has added 16 more dates to its rescheduled U.S. tour, according to the band's publicist. The dates will see the group's Real Steel tour--which was postponed late last month after frontman Phil Anselmo broke two ribs--begin on Feb. 1 in New Mexico.

In addition to the new Feb. 1 start date, February stops have been added to the run throughout the West and Midwest. A March 13 engagement in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., has been added to that month's mostly-full itinerary, as well. Tickets for most of the newly announced dates are scheduled to go on sale during the first three weekends in December.

Tickets that fans already purchased for the tour's original November and December dates will be honored at the rescheduled dates, according to a band press release. In cities where dates have not been rescheduled, full refunds will be made available at the original location where the tickets were purchased.

A videotaped message from the band is currently available on Pantera's official website in which Anselmo explains that he broke the ribs when he "busted his ass" while working at his annual, New Orleans-based haunted house, the House of Shock. Anselmo spoke about his involvement with the House of Shock during a recent, pre-rib-breaking interview with SoundSpike.

Morbid Angel and Soulfly have been tapped as the support acts on Pantera's upcoming tour, a spot the latter group landed after Kittie--who was originally set to join the outing in November and December--booked its own jaunt when the tour was postponed.
