Taking Back Sunday brings back old friends for new dates
Sporting a restored lineup featuring a pair of members who haven't toured with the band since 2003, alt-rockers Taking Back Sunday will head out on the road for a handful of dates next month.
The group kicks off the six-city outing June 22 in Sayreville, NJ, and will also visit New York City (6/23), Philadelphia (6/24), Boston (6/25) and Chicago (6/27) before wrapping the road trip June 29 in Los Angeles. Details are shown at right. A VIP pre-sale for the dates begins Wednesday (5/5) at 5 p.m. local time, while general on-sales begin May 8 at 10 a.m. local time. More information can be found at the group's website.
The Long Island-based band--featuring vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist Eddie Reyes and drummer Mark O'Connell--has reunited with founding member John Nolan (guitar/vocals) and bassist Shaun Cooper. Nolan and Cooper originally departed the band following Taking Back Sunday's 2002 debut album, "Tell All Your Friends."
Following the tour, the group will head to the recording studio this summer with producer Eric Valentine to begin work on its fifth studio album, which will be the follow-up to last year's "New Again," according to a press release.
"We are so excited to be able to play songs in front of people with this lineup of the band," said Lazzara in a statement. "So we have to play a few shows before we go off to make the new record. All of these venues have special meanings for us, and we've had so much support in these cities."
"I think we're going to be backstage waiting to go on and just jumping up and down," added Nolan. "It's going to be amazing to share the excitement that we've been feeling for these past few weeks with an audience."
