Kings of Leon name opening acts for summer run
More than a month after announcing their North American tour, Kings of Leon have revealed that The Black Keys, Built to Spill, The Features, The Stills and The Whigs will take turns providing opening support on the outing.
Kings of Leon will kick off the road trip with a June 5 performance in Atlantic City, followed by shows in more than 30 major markets throughout the nation. Details are shown at right.
The Grammy Award-winning rockers are also slated to headline a June 30 concert in London, followed by a couple gigs with the UK's V Festival later in the summer. Information about international dates is available at the band's website.
The group released "Only By the Night," its fourth studio album, in the fall of 2008, just one year after "Because of the Times." The latest set, which features the hit singles "Use Somebody" and "Sex On Fire," has sold more than six million copies worldwide, according to the band's website.
In related news, Kings of Leon last month released a new iPhone app, "Kings of Leon Revenge," created by the makers of Tap Tap Revenge. Details about the app are posted at the band's website, and the app is available now in Apple's iPhone App Store.
