Mark Knopfler Gallery Spotlight: Oakland, CA - April 13, 2010

Grammy-winning guitarist Mark Knopfler is laying all his cards on the table these days as he road tests the music from his latest album, "Get Lucky." His sixth studio set hit US stores last September and peaked in the No. 5 spot on the Billboard Rock Albums chart.

Knopfler's career took off initially as the frontman of the band Dire Straits in the late '70s, but he's been flying solo since 1996, earning much acclaim in his own right. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Knopfler at No. 27 on their list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

Fans can catch Knopfler throughout North America through early May. SoundSpike photographer Steven Jennings attended his show at The Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA, last night (4/13) and here are some of his best shots.
