Phish maps US summer tour dates
Phish will hit the road this summer for the band's most ambitious tour since reuniting last spring, an 18-city, 29-show summer trek running through mid-August.
The group kicks off the outing June 11 in Chicago, and will play multiple shows in 10 cities along the way, including a three-night run (8/5-7) in Berkeley, CA. The jaunt concludes Aug. 17 and 18 in Wantagh, NY. Dates are at right.
Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning April 2; fans can request pre-sale tickets via the band's website through March 26.
Burlington, VT-based Phish--comprised of singer/guitarist Trey Anastasio, drummer Jon Fishman, bassist Mike Gordon and keyboardist Page McConnell--returned from a five-year recording and performing hiatus last spring. It was the second lengthy break in the band's career, the first taking place from 2000 through 2002.
On the road, Phish continues to support "Joy," its latest studio album (and first since 2004's "Undermind"). The set, which peaked at No. 13 on The Billboard 200, reunites the group with producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Dave Matthews Band), who helmed the band's 1996 release, "Billy Breathes."
"Phish 3D," a feature-length theatrical concert film culled from the band's three-day outdoor Festival 8 event--which took place Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 1 last year in Indio, CA--will hit the big screen later this spring. Fans can sign up for more information, including release dates and participating theaters, at the movie's website.
